IMG_20200809_164424_902.jpg

Welcome to Beacons Trike Tours Limited. We are a small, family run business with our base in Ystradgynlais at the foot of the stunning Brecon Beacons.

What we offer is something unique in this part of South Wales. Are you someone who has always wanted to experience the thrill of riding a motorbike, but were always too afraid to try? Or are you always the 'nominated driver' in your car when visiting areas of natural beauty and you always miss out on what everyone else is 'oohing and aahing' about? Do you have a special celebration coming up and you want something truly memorable to mark the occasion? Well look no further. The trike tours we offer can fulfil these, and many other wishes. Whether it's the thrill of the ride you are after,  or the ability to soak up the beauty of your surroundings while being 'chauffeur driven', then look no further.

We offer a variety of tours of differing duration for up to 2 people at a time. You can sit back and relax on the trike, enjoy the fresh air, the stunning landscape and the thrill of the ride and leave the driving to us.

Click 'Tours and Prices' for more information on the tours we currently offer. Bespoke tours can be arranged. We can make special occasions even more special, for example, anniversaries, birthdays, proms, weddings. You name it, we are happy to discuss the possibilities. Just get in touch and we will see what we can do.

For now, Happy Triking!

We are based in Cwmgiedd, Ystradgynlais on the River Tawe in South West Powys, Wales. There are a number of places to stay, eat and visit in the area. The town of Ystradgynlais itself is just a short walk from our premises and is an ideal place for those not taking a trike tour to grab a coffee and slice of cake whilst waiting for the trikers to return. If on a longer tour, there are also a number of tourist attractions in the area (within a short driving distance) where a pleasant few hours can be spent. Or, for those of you wishing to enjoy the beautiful scenery on foot, there are some lovely places to walk to while away the time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How & When Do I Pay?

Unless previously agreed between Beacons Trike Tours Limited and the customer, a 50% deposit will be required at the time of booking, with the balance payable no later than 7 days before the tour date. Payment will be accepted by bank transfer, quoting your invoice number/name as the reference, or by cheque, made payable to Beacons Trike Tours Limited and posted to our registered office at 43 Heol Giedd, Cwmgiedd, Ystradgynlais, Swansea SA9 1LP.

For bookings made with very little notice, eg. if you are visiting the area on holiday, it may be possible, with prior arrangement, to pay for the experience in cash on the day. Please speak to us about this.

Are There Any Age Limits?

There are absolutely no upper age limits. As long as the passenger is able to wear the lap belt, a helmet and place their feet on the foot pegs, older age is not a barrier. As for children, for safety reasons, we would also require them to be tall enough to be able to rest their feet on the foot pegs throughout the tour. As a rough guide only, a height of around 1.25m or around 10 years of age may be about right. Please call us for a conversation about this if you are unsure, prior to booking. An adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18 year on all of our tours.

Do You Run Tours All Year Round?

As a general rule, tours run through Spring, Summer and Autumn. Winter is certainly not out of the question and can be arranged through prior discussion and if it is safe to do so.

What Should I Wear?

We will provide open-faced helmets with a clear visor, waterproof jackets and over-trousers, gloves and neck warmers, if required. You should wear sensible, sturdy footwear and warm clothing (jumper(s), jacket) no matter what the weather is like. Some areas on our routes can turn very cold very quickly. Sunglasses are also a good idea, not only do they look good, but if you wish to wear the helmet visor up, then they will help protect your eyes from any dust or flies.

Do We Need To Wear Helmets?

Although it is not a legal requirement to wear a helmet on a trike, our insurance and licencing terms dictate that this is essential on all our tours. It’s a cool look too!

Are There Any Restrictions?

Our standard weight limit is 18 stone (114kg) per person (36 stone or 228kg combined weight). Please check with us for further advice if you are unsure.

Can I Reschedule My Tour Date?

We will try our best to accommodate this, however, during busier times, rescheduling cannot be guaranteed.

What If I Have To Cancel My Booking?

Refunds will not be paid if you cancel your tour with us. The trike and time have been reserved for you and it may not be possible to fill the tour with another customer at short notice. If you have any problems, then please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to arrange another date for you.

Beacons Trike Tours Limited and the owners will not be held responsible for any costs whatsoever, incurred by the customer(s) or any other party as a result of cancellation.

Can I Ride As A Single Passenger?

Yes. If you wish to enjoy the tour on your own that is fine. However, all tours are priced the same whether one or two passengers are on the tour. There are no reductions for singles.

What If It Rains?

Once booked, our tours go ahead no matter what the weather. We will provide waterproof jackets, waterproof trousers, gloves and neck warmers (please refer to 'What should I Wear?' above). However, on some occasions in the interest of safety and your enjoyment, the driver may deem it necessary to postpone the tour to another time. We wish you to experience the thrill of the ride even if it takes a while to agree a mutually acceptable rearranged tour time. If it is deemed impossible to rearrange, for example you are towards the end of your holiday, a refund may be made at the company’s discretion.

Who Can Drive The Trike?

Only our designated driver may drive the Trikes.
